2023 Build - It Has Begun!

Been a few years since I've done a completely new build, so, time to get at it.

Kinda' sped up the process since when I tore down my current, main rig and then rebuilt the 3090 block, it's not cooling, so I immediately made the call to shift focus to going ahead and getting this other, new build under way.

Few items still in the works (waiting to see about the 4090 Ti before either going that route or sticking with 4080 and including it in the loop, custom sleeved cables). Also returning to Intel after previous build of Ryzen 9 5900x and return to Asus motherboard from Gigabyte Aorus.

Nice build but Apex is kind of pointless with only 6200 memory. Should be going at least 6800 (I'd probably go 7200 to make sure) in order to get the newer hynix ICs in the ddr5. Apex is capable of doing 7800-8000 pretty effortlessly. Also the PSU is just massively overpriced with asus tax. There's nothing special about that thing over many other units on the market in the same power range for around half the price.

I like the case. The only downside (I also have a very large case) is that if you ever want to mount it under the desk... you basically can't :(

I also have a big case. When life settles down I plan to do a new build with a smaller case. It sits on the ground right now because there is no room for it elsewhere XD

Given the amount you are spending, wouldn't a 13900K be a better option just for quick sync for the event you ever need it? I am not aware of the price difference in the US but I didn't think it was much in Europe iirc.

Nice setup. You may want to add a CPU cooler to that build! Also, why do you need so much storage? 5TB total. That is a lot of pr0n.
