    Default Losing energy

I'm not quitting, I'm not 'done' ... I just understand that I'm feeling progressively less motivation to play Warthunder the more I understand it's economy. Repair costs are balanced off of average profitability of a vehicle, so to be profitable, you either buy premium or you have to be better than average. I'm not better than average, I'm new to the game, and my skill level is not sustainable above Rank III.

This realization is absolutely murdering my motivation to play the game, and while I'm in no rush to 'quit' and I love the clan, I know better than to try to push myself into something I don't enjoy, and seeing that writing on the wall, I feel it's prudent to communicate that to my clan.

This isn't planned, given a choice I'd much prefer to continue to enjoy the game, but communication is better than just dropping off the grid until I take interest in another game that AOD is playing. I'll continue to keep trying to communicate, but I may not be playing as frequently.

Thank you for the fun times, this is not goodbye ... I'm just giving myself permission to slow my tempo while trying to communicate.

Hello m8, how long have you been playing the game?

There are certain ways to increase your silver lions income so you never have to worry about repair costs.

Oh and btw most of the playerbase started from scratch like you do and earned in depth knowledge of the game by keep practicing.

I don't know if you are a pilot and/or a tanker but i know you need to have many hours under your belt to become familiar with your vehicle capabilities as well as your opponents in each and every BR.

Sorry to see it that way Cypher. Sometimes we do have that burn out moment ... more than once in life sadly. But like you said, slow your tempo and play when you have that urge to want to play. (I don't know what your division's attendance policy is. but I would look into it, so it keeps you in active status. So, hopefully you get that spark to want to play again or like you said another game AOD plays.

It does get into you for sure, to keep the happyness in play, I often play low tier, sometime even reserve, fun and economic :)

Good to take a break every once in a while! I think rank III is just fine btw. Hate the "high tier/low tier" distinction, prefer "fun/not fun".

Hey Cypher. Cheer up Mate. Warthunder gets to a LOT of people. Even me. Just because there are higher tier Planes and Tanks in the gfame, DOESN'T mean you have to play them. I have High Tier Planes and Bombers and like playing them. But the real fun, for me anyway, is in the mid tier to lower levels. Levels where you don't need to worry about repair costs too much. Oaky so you have a hard time getting past Tier 3 Planes and Tanks. That's why you have clan members, like myself who are willing to squad up with you to help you, not only get higher tier vehicles, but make Lions. You've only been in the clan since July. Don't rush it, play at YOUR pace. Make it enjoyable. What you may not have know and/or realized, is that AOD is also a TEACHING clan. We have members who will help and teach you how to be a better fighter pilot or a bomber pilot or a Dive Bomber. What ever your taste is on Land or Air. There's always SOMONE willing to help. I personally can teach you how to be a better bomber pilot because that is what I excel in. Sure it's not as exciting as being a fighter pilot and going after everyone. But I can teach you how to fly your bombers and avoid the people looking for you and reach your target and drop a WHOLE lot of love right on top of your heads.
Take your time. Don't rush. Warthunder is still going to be here. And so will we.

Crew skills do a lot. I bought some gold and used it to boost crews of few nations I like to play. Also getting a squad of 4 people will make a big difference, because then you have a 3 teammates that can watch your back and you can easily coordinate your attack/defend with them. Br 4-5 german premiums are good for silver, because they don't cost that much and they usually have good armor & guns that one shot most of their opposition. If you wanna keep the game free, then it is just about grinding and using free boosters and playing at certain BR.
I am sad. My squadmate got killed today. He said that there is a Leo in the forest, but I couldn't see the forest because trees were on the way.

I personally have the most fun in Rank 2-3. Either solo or with the clan it's way easier to influence the outcome of the battle than it is in higher BR. I suggest you play more low BR. It's more fun and there are many fun, finicky tanks/airplanes to try. I'm a really bad pilot, but flying in 1.3 relieves most of the pressure because the majority are bad pilots lol

lots of great comments and ideas here.

Personally, I was grinding War Thunder pretty hard for a while and once I started getting into the 7.0 and above range I noticed I was losing more silver lions than I was making. Then I realized, that the higher the BR, the less kills, less assists, less caps, less everything all around. It got to a point where if I researched a new tank or plane, I did not have enough SL to buy or crew it. So I dropped down and started playing in the 4.7 to 5.3 range. Got a lineup with a premium or two in it and started banging away. Pretty soon I had 5 million lions stocked up and this was only after a few days of playing (granted at the time I played about 10 to 12 hours a day.) So I would bounce back up to the higher BR's for a while, unlock a tank or two and then bounce back down to the lower BR's and bang away getting my SL's back up. Playing the lower level BR's is kinda like seal clubbing. You'll rack up 5 to 10 kills per match along with 4 or 5 assists and 2 or 3 caps vs. when I play higher tier (8.0 and above) and only get 1 or 2 kills a match and maybe a cap.) Remember in this game, you are rewarded for caps, assists and shooting down planes (if playing ground). If your only concentrating on kills then you will not be rewarded well as kills get you the least amount of points and SL.

Also if your not premium, that makes a huge difference in this game. And if your not aware, Gaijin has 2 sales per year where you can buy 6 months or 12 months of premium at half off. It's coming up soon, usually November and May.

One other thing you can do is make sure your grouping up with other members. I'm not sure why but I always seem to do much better playing in a group of 3 or 4 than I do when I'm alone.

And lastly, this game is a grind. I get burnt out all the time. Make sure you have a couple of other games to play to take your mind off War Thunder. I usually sit in TS while playing the other games and then when a group of people get online that I enjoy playing with, I'll switch over to War Thunder and join them.

May I suggest Naval RB? I'm playing the american's. Bought the Moffet and it has been a ball of joy until I got to the Cleveland. Now I'm mainly getting 5-10 kills each match and I get that excitement from battles even though its a bit slower. I popped the 5kill per match wager and ended up making 1mil SL this evening. It's definitely been a fun change of pace.

I remember feeling like I was total garbage at every point along the way to getting where I am now skill-wise. What helped was focusing on fun and unique ways to play instead of W-key and shoot. Climbing your way up the WT ranks is a long burn, where the stuff at the top is only a distant dream (and I still think almost all of top tier in WT is garbage gameplay). When you do feel like playing, I suggest you pop on, find a weird vehicle you haven't tried, and try to make it work just for shits. You'll find yourself learning its pros and cons over a couple dozen matches or whatever, meanwhile earning RP and SL toward the next vehicle you'll play when the first one gets boring. You'll also be building up stronger lineups, so that not only will you have more skill with each vehicle, but you'll be able to stay in the match longer and win more. Those vehicles will also have increasingly better crews and modules. It's sort of an exponential thing I guess.

But yeah, don't play if you're just not having fun, to be sure.
