DaVinci Resolve is the best free editor hands down. Takes a while to learn how to set it up for good quality if you're looking to make youtube videos but once you get it you're good. I believe the main thing is just remembering to setup your resolution and framerate before bringing your unediting clips into the software and using the youtube preset to render and remembering to setup the resolution, fps and max out bit rate in that preset.

DaVinci Resolve is so good I stopped using Adobe products all together. So yeah like HOODedDutchman said, DaVinci Resolve is the way to go. I had to change my workflow a little bit coming from Adobe products but once you get used to it you won't go back.
