Icon5 Any of you that plays MMORPG's? Help me find the gem!

After playing all sorts of games for a while. I'm back to needing an MMO in my life.

I've played loads in the past:
    - WoW
    - GW2
    - ESO
    - BDO
    - ArcheAge
    - MapleStory
    - Almost every MMORPG in the Steam Store

Currently looking into FF14, also cause of the new experience and it sounds casual friendly.

If you guys know any hidden gems. Please let me know and maybe we can even play together 😁

If you haven't tried Destiny 2, its a quasi MMO / FPS. I enjoy it.
Even though its almost 4 years old bungie still pushes regular content and graphics updates.

    Worth a look.

GOOD MMORPG's seem to be few a far between these days. I played all the big ones back in the day: WOW, EVE (for far tooo long), GW2, ect and it would be nice to find a decent one to get back into.

I think my top 2 "upcoming" is Ashes of Creation, I have Alpha 2 access. And Star Citizen. But who knows when either of those will become full on MMOs.

Check out Crimson Deserts trailer, it looks so unbelievable I'm skeptical it will be anything like the video.

I've never got into a real MMORPG. I played EQ, WoW and Star Wars: The Old Republic for a few hundred hours.(which is like Old Repubic plays like WoW)

EQ has it's charm but it's archaic, still has a huge active community on main client and private.

I tried FF11, 14, 11 had a lot of charm but it's gone except private servers. 14 I was absolutely lost in the first city for hours. x_x didn't get into it.

I can dig the games stories and realms, like the Blood Elf Kingdom in WoW, it's so beautiful.

Once you get into the gear and stat grinds I phase out quick.. Like my old clan leader was like We need you to work on that DPS.

    Pretty much casual.

If you want an FPS Destiny 2 is pretty incredible, massive hundreds of hours of content. The secrets in that game blew my mind, incredible level designs, secrets all over.

    Borderlands is great too.

ESO is fantastic, never really got into it but it's outstanding.

FFXIV is a great game it can feel overhwleming unless you have someone like me to navigate you through and help you out in the game if you have questions or where to go and how to get level'd up. If you try FFXIV i can help you out if you join the Crystal DC and Brynhildr world

I liked SWTOR and played it a fair amount in between 2012 - 2019. The stories are def worth an initial playthrough. You really should take a sub for it tho eventho its F2P, the model doesn't allow you to really have any fun really. The PVP was also a lot of fun. End game didnt really get going until 2015 imo. Haven't played it in a while, dont know what the current situation is.

I also played Neverwinter which had fun gameplay (coming from systems like WoW/SWTOR), especially when it just came out. Had a massive problem in constantly rebalancing the game to keep players rolling new characters. There was no pay to win but there was def. some pay to skip grind. But TBH you'd have to spend THOUSANDS to really pay to win in that game. No idea what it's like now.

Other than that there are the games that have already been mentioned here. I, too, am waiting for that MMO to sweep me off my feet, but it never comes. I was hoping it would be BDO and ESO but they didn't keep me playing.

Strangely enough the game that feels most like an MMORPG to me atm is Valheim, but maybe thats because I'm playing on a huge server with people I both know and don't know. Everytime I log in the world is a little different. Not an MMORPG tho, there are like 45 people on the server (and never more than 20 at a time)

FFXIV is a solid game for casual MMO players. Great story and stuff as well!

If you already know about majority of the titles that have been suggested and dont have interest in any of them, then there is nothing. This is a semi bad time for MMO's and all I can tell you is to just wait.

Of the existing MMOs out there? I think FF14 is best. Thanks to its level sync system pretty much all the content has some use and I find the combat more enjoyable than GW2.

The story starts out weak but the expansions are pretty solid.

You can check out New World. There is tons of information on it posted to the division request sub-forum. Release is in a few months and beta starting this summer.
