Hello AOD! I'm sorry if I have missed where to introduce myself at. I've got a rather long history and have known AOD since the MOH days. Never been a part of AOD but have played with many from this community throughout the past decade or 2? It's been a long time so not sure on the exact time...But that isn't important. I may not remember the names of those who I have played with, but I do know the tag. And every time I have had the pleasure to play along side someone from AOD it's be very enjoyable and fun. After MOH came to an end I turned my attention to the first releases of Call of Duty. Mainly playing with a tournament called BFE(Battle For Europe) and helping creating and running a Tournament called BP(Breaking Point). Those places have long been gone and I've been just living in the small communities that have branched out over the years from the old players from those tournaments. A lot of history is there in itself. Some of it great...some of it not so good like the big splits and fights that went on after the end of the Tournaments. Maybe some of you have heard about those, or maybe not. But that is just the tip of the iceberg known as Madcap.
I'm a 27 year old hydraulic mechanic from Alabama. I've been married for 5 years and my wife also games.(Got really lucky on that one.) I play a slew of games that would need it's own topic because of the sheer amount of games I do play. I will name off some of the ones I do play just about everyday. World of Warships, Hell Let Loose, GTAV, Squad, any of the Red Orchestra/Rising Storm games, They are Billions, and I'm done boring you with this list and will add Company of Heroes to the list for last. I've recently started to get into streaming and content creation. I have beginner skills in video editing and Gfx design. By no means am I a professional, but I do enjoy the work I put into trying to make some good content. I record just about every game I play. I haven't really tried to stream just yet, but I do plan on it once I get a better understanding of YouTube and how to manage that. I'm also a self taught musician and know a bit about recording and mixing songs/albums.
The real reason that I've come this far as to torture you with this wall of text is over the past couple of weeks I've become unhappy with the treatment and level of progress of my current community. They are also made up of the same players from the tournaments I've mentioned above. There is seriously a long and battered story with just about all of those guys spanning over the past 15+ years. But that isn't important and I'm not here to name names or throw anyone under the bus. I'm just looking for a place that I can fit into that wants to grow the everyday gaming experience and bring the fun when at all possible. I've always had my eyes interest set on AOD. But the times where just never right. Always had events or tournaments to run/admin. I feel that this community has the foundation and structure that suit my needs and wants in a gaming community. I'm not exactly your average gamer. I want more than just average gaming. I want to take it somewhere, make it something, and bring joy and laughter all those who witness what may come.
Now, I haven't taken the steps for recruitment yet for my own reason of curiosity. I don't like to jump head first into things. I'm a man of method. Gotta test the waters if you may. I like to know about beyond the cover of the book. I hope to see and hear form some of y'all over the coming days and hope to catch a game or 2 with some. Until then, frag on brothers.
