Do people use custom tank sights in their games?
Share them for all to see!

I've attached the ones I use, I admit I only rarely use the rangefinder elements of the sights. I find them to be too slow and inaccurate compared to my own, very experienced, estimations.
[I couldn't attach them as images for some reason, so attachments will have to do]

I've only used a single custom sight for any of my tanks and that is the classic Abrams gunsight. Funnily enough the square with a dot actually increased my accuracy by alot! :)

If anyone is curious about custom sights. I can highly recommend that you try one out! :)

I don't like to manually input my range before I get the sight distance. I like to be able to just point and shoot.

Roeffel uses them a lot! A lot, a lot. He has one for the Calliope that he swears by. I personally don't use it at all - I'm still a noob with that stuff. xD

You can also make/modify them yourself to suit your needs.
It's relatively easy, albeit a bit time consuming to get it all right.

I use them on tanks that I'm really into... dunno why, not even sure if it helps or makes things worse. But it's fun and different :)

Here you'll find all the user-made sights that people have uploaded.
Search for and find the one you want, download, and install it.
There are a couple of different German ones. I'm not a fan. I would recommend my "rangefinding sight" (sight 3 of the OP).

    My Sight: https://live.warthunder.com/post/688824/en/
    If you like, I have specialised versions for the 5cm L/60, 7.5cm L24, 7.5cm L46, and 7.5cm L70 guns. (eg: Puma, Pz.IV F1, Pakwagen, Panther)

Here you'll find instructions on installing and creating your own sights.
I learnt to do it from a mix of reading that guide, reverse-engineering elements of other people's sights, and good ol' fashioned experimentation.

At this very moment I'm in the process of making an Excel spreadsheet which allows me to enter various values and it automatically kicks out a few different sights.

The M1 Abrams gun sight can only be used for the M1, and possibly the M1IP. No two gun sights are the same. Eventually when the M1A1 and M1A2 Abrams get added, the 120mm Rheinmetall L/44 smoothbore cannon gun sight will be the same as on the Leopard 1A1 L/44, Leopard 2K, Type 90, Leopard 2A4, and eventually (maybe) the Leopards 2A0/A1, 2A2, 2A3, 2A5, 2A6, 2A7, and way in the distant future when the Leopard 2A8 gets added (cause the more the merrier) (why not)

Just as a side note, if Gaijin decides to add more Abrams variants, they’re gonna have a lot of work on their hands. There are 11 upgrade packages for the M1A1 alone and 6 for the M1A2, with the M1A2K (Kuwait) and M1A3 being currently under development. For me personally, it would be cool to see a M1A2 SEP v.4 (System Enhancement Package). And for some reason because the FV510 Warrior IFV is getting added, it just makes me want the M2 Bradley IFV to be added even though it’s a piece of garbage IRL.

You could use the Abrams sight with only minor modification in any sight.
It looks similar to the historical German sights in its functionality. I think those sights work great IRL, but in WT speed of engagements are such that you can't mess around with inputing the range.

You can use pretty much any sight for every tank, depending if you allow autoscaling of the sight or not
(i don't know by heart how to check or do it, but you'll probably fing it in the links from kiro)
You don't need to adjust the sight, you can but you don't have to, if it autoscales it's pretty much like the standard sight, but modified to what you like how it looks
And yes some tanks (especially in sim or like the caliope) you'll be able to perform drasticly better
For me the calliope was a big purchase mistake, now i'm loving it, because i can use those rockets relatively acurate at range, almost up to a 1000 metres!!

All in all worth checking out at least

    Have fun and good luck

Whether or not sights are compatible depends on a lot of factors.
They are always very simple to convert across though, the most you'll ever have to do is change the numbers in the ballistics blocks to match the type and velocity of the new tank's shells.
That said, some sights look weird when looked through with different zoom levels. Sometimes even putting some of the reticle outside of the FoV.
