I have heard about the game. But I am interested now!
I use to play Monkey Universe and North quadrant mods when I was in middle school.
The Discovery server still has a sizable amount of people playing.

Amazing game. It's considered abandonware now & you can download it for free. Last time I reinstalled it, there was still a small group that have a mod available to play online as well. Yes, it has a decent story.

Not quite. Freelancer is the sequel to Starlancer which Roberts developed with his independent studio Digital Anvil after leaving EA. With Freelancer though Roberts mismanaged the development so badly that publisher Microsoft had to buy him out from his own studio and tell him to leave just so they could get the game finished. Roberts pretty much fucked off to Hollywood after to make bad movies for nearly a decade before coming back to gaming in 2011 and crowdfunding Star Citizen.Quote:
